Sir Edmund Hillary
Sir Edmund Hillary is well known for his mountaineering expeditions and explorations. One of the most popular New Zealand mountaineer, he was born on 20th July, 1919. At the age of 33 he along with Tenzing Norgay a Sherpa mountaineer became the first person to have reached summit of the Mount Everest. His interest towards mountaineering gained a lot of support while he was in the secondary school itself. It was during this time when he made his first expedition climb reaching the summit of Mount Ollivier. Along with expeditions and mountaineering he also served as the navigator in RNZAF during World War II.
